Excitement rippled through year 6 this week as we finally got the opportunity to meet our reception buddies. It was an absolute pleasure to see the Year 6 children chatting to their buddies in their playtime today, kneeling down to their level and enticing them out their shells. Well done Year 6! After twenty minutes of ice breaking, the reception children had covered the 6s in fairy dust, played numerous games of hide and seek and told them all about themselves. As we we walking back to our classroom, the quote of the day was, 'We have to wait a whole 7 days before we get to see them again!'
We will be spending our break time with our reception buddies every Friday morning, where we will participate in a range of activities.
Photos to follow - we are just awaiting consent for our reception children.
Each week, I will upload some photos of our classroom working walls so you are able to discuss/ chat with your children on the different areas we have been learning about. Hopefully the children will be able to fill you in further!
Times Table Rock Star tasks will be set weekly. All children have their login details stuck on the inside cover of their Reading Records and it will match the multiplication facts we are rehearsing that week. Children also have access to mathletics to practise any areas of maths.
Spelling Shed Assignments are set weekly on Mondays. Children have a week to complete the assignments and they match to the spelling pattern we are learning in school. Login details are stuck on the inside cover of the Reading Records.
Children are expected to read daily where possible, this recorded in their Reading Record and signed by a parent/carer. Please ensure that the Reading Record is in school on Fridays as this is when it is checked by an adult in the class.
