Who's Who

Mrs Laird- Learning Support Assistant

YEAR 1 HOME LEARNING

This is where you will find copies of set learning activities and links for children when home learning.

For each half term, there will be a Topic grid sent out on Seesaw and below on this website. A suggestion would be to complete two of these activities a week; however, this is just a guide.

For each week, there are set learning activities:

  • Spelling Shed (set once weekly)
  • 1 Phonics demonstration video (shared on Seesaw)
  • 3 Phonics activities based on the sound demonstrated in the video (on Seesaw)
  • Daily DEAR videos (found on the YouTube playlist link below, which is also shared on Seesaw)
  • A writing task that will take 2 sessions to complete
  • 2 Mathematics activities (On Seesaw)
  • 1 Mathematics game (On Seesaw)
  • Mathletics (On the Mathletics website)
  • Timestables Rockstars (On the TTRockstars website)
  • Also available: Bug Club to access your coloured banded reading books online

All learning that is completed can be done so in the 'Home Learning' book (green exercise book) that children brought home in the last week of school. This work can be photographed and shared on Seesaw. Spelling shed, Mathletics and Timestables Rockstars will all be monitored on line.

Ways to keep in touch:

  • Photographing work and recording on Seesaw, I will respond to these by commenting but your friends won't be able to see it.
  • Emailing the Year 1 address to send pictures of what you have been up to. I will not be able to answer here but these photos will go onto the blog and your friends will be able to see them.
  • Commenting on my YouTube videos, I will respond to these by commenting.
  • Sending an email through the office.
