On Friday 17th March we had a fantastic morning performing our class assembly to the rest of the school and parents. We enjoyed dressing up in green and performing our song ‘Little Leprechaun’, which made many people laugh.
On Monday 20th March we travelled back in time to Ancient Egypt for our living history day. On this day we dressed up as people from Ancient Egypt and completed tasks that the Ancients Egyptians had to do. The children carried out or experienced the following:
became scribes for the pharaoh,
made oil for burning
created clay oil lamps.
learnt how to make bread
painted part of a tomb.
held different jobs during the day;
Alfie Price enjoyed being the chief of the Secret Police and had to solve the Mystery of who Stole the Fish.
Erin Thorne was the Queen and checked on her workers during the morning.
In the afternoon we enjoyed a banquet where we tried different food and performed dances and dramas for our royal family.
Thank you for finding the resources to make the Egyptian head-dresses. Each child has now made a head-dress which was inspired by the drawings of Ancient Egyptian Gods.
Overall a wonderful day was had by all. Thank you to the parents, who volunteered, dressed up and supported the days exciting activities.
